With the changing pace of global Supply Chain needs, there is a need to understand how business core functions and processes impact on warehousing requirements. In this course, students will learn about the theory of warehouse design, the best option for material flow and how functions and operations are best implemented based on the type of industries supported.
The course covers functional layout for inbound and outbound processes, optimal layout design considerations based on inventory types, how to handle peak volumes, when to how engage automation. In this course we also discuss the best approach to material handling equipment, safety and compliance requirements. We look at the importance of the Master Data file and its relevance to warehouse management.
This course also discusses the different type of bespoke industry based requirements. Students should source the course reference book – ‘Inventory and Other Grocery Items’ written by Terrence Walmsley, available on Amazon Kindle ebooks. By completing this course, students will have the theory fundamentals needed to fulfil a role within any warehouse environment.
This course is reviewed regularly for current changes that impact warehousing and the supply chain. For those students that want to expand their knowledge on the supply chain, it is recommended that the other courses, Inventory Management and Processes Measurement should also be studied. This course contains 12 Modules that contain test quizzes and an end of course test. Successful students will receive certification and a certificate for passing the course.
