About Us

iA – Inventory Academy

Terrence Walmsley is the founder of the iA-Inventory Academy and is based in our Singapore office. Terrence has over 40 years of hands-on and executive management experience in the industry. He has worked for multinational companies across most sectors. Terrence’s top 7 business focuses include-

      1. Safety

        – Safety is crucial relative to the type of inventory (DG, food safety, code products, rotation, fragile, compatibility, etc.). Safety has no compromise—do it right, or don’t do it at all.

      2. MRP – Review Master Data field actives for effective use and limitations. There’s an old saying particularly relevant to Master Data: GIGO (garbage in, garbage out). What you’re not seeing is the hidden costs of garbage.

      3. KPIs, PIs, and Metrics – These are required as performance measures and for understanding processes. They are not only figures to gauge performance outputs by but also essential tools for improvement.

      4. Warehouse Use and Functions – Including SKU slotting logic and logistics. Real estate comes at a premium these days; thinking outside the box is essential.

      5. Communication – Structure, frequency, content. Timely, accurate, and reliable communications go a long way in delivering success. Learn to use it well.

      6. Training – Alignment to corporate strategy and remedial fixes. Constructive and meaningful training is a staff motivator.

      7. Culture – TQM, Lean, LSS. If a positive culture is non-existent in your organization, then you’re already fighting an uphill battle. Stop and regroup.
